Alfred González has been a photographer since the age of 16, when he purchased his first camera in 1978, the Nikon FM. Since then he has captured the soul of New York and its inhabitants and visitors. Alfred continues to shoot in black and white film nearly every day with his medium format Mamiya 7, his camera of choice. He mostly photographs people on the streets of NYC, as he captures their personalities with every picture taken. His love for New York is evident in his work which also features its landmarks, buildings, bridges, rivers, parks…
Alfred’s photographs are sold at his art gallery, Gallery 71, located on 71st & Lexington Avenue - just a few blocks from the 6 train’s, 68th St. Station and just a stone’s throw away from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MOMA, The Guggenheim, The Frick Collection and the old Whitney Museum Building.
